Blending Diesel Fuels

Diesel trucks are used and loved by many. They provide traction and security in the winter, making many people's lives easier. Also, they are a huge source of supply transportation in the use of semi-trucks. However, the cold temperatures of winter can cause various problems for diesel engines. When it gets really cold, diesel fuel is especially under attack.

Paraffin is a wax used in diesel fuel; this wax can reach a solid-state when it reaches colder temperatures (generally in a range of minus-18 degrees F to 20 degrees F). This can cause expensive mechanical issues during the winter months. The gelled fuel can clog filters, damage injectors, or cause other serious harm to the engine. To prevent this, it’s recommended that diesel fuels be blended either with winter additives, like what is provided through Power Service, or a diesel No. 2 blend.

Using a No.1 and No.2 diesel blend can be a huge help in the wintertime. Diesel fuel No.1 doesn’t contain the paraffin wax making it much more durable in the colder temperatures, thus aiding the paraffin filled diesel No.2. To improve your diesel engines durability in the winter, diesel blending and Power Service additive are a must!

Tips for Blending Diesel Fuels
  • It's said that some people blend their diesel with either gasoline or kerosene. While this can help prevent gelling, it can also cause damage to your diesel engine.
  • As winter sets in, blend 30% No. 2 with 70% No. 1.
  • If either problem persist, or temperatures drop rapidly, add a diesel additive from Power Service to help improve your winter performance.
  • Anytime the temperature drops below minus-30 degrees F, use straight No. 1 diesel, mix with small amounts of winter additive.

I like your diesel tips. I need to get a new tank. I'll have to import the gas.

It's interesting to know that we'd blend diesel fuels to avoid costly mechanical issues during the winter. Last month, my brother bought a truck, and since we live in a zone where we reach low temperatures, I'll email this to him to help prevent engine damage. I appreciate your insight on blending diesel fuels with winter additives to keep your truck out of trouble.

It's interesting to know that it is recommended to have diesel and power service additive to be blended so that the car will work well in the winter. I wonder if we can also use kerosene fuel oil products for the secondhand vehicle that I got earlier this month. It is my first time having a car, so I still got a lot to learn to keep it in great condition no matter what the weather or condition in our location is.

I never took into account the fact that there is a need for winter additives for diesel fuel to keep them from freezing in cold weather and damage the mechanical parts of the engine. I will keep that in mind when picking bulk diesel supplies for the pickup truck that I bought for myself this year. This is definitely the kind of car that I wanted for myself ever since I was a teen, so I will make sure to choose the right options to keep it in good condition and take care of its components well.

I thought it was informative when you talked about how diesel trucks are widely used in supply transportation. As far as I know, diesel supply trucks can drive hundreds of miles at a time in order to deliver a shipment. I would imagine that these trucks use high-quality diesel in order to improve fuel efficiency.

It was fascinating to know that paraffin is a wax utilized in diesel fuel. My friend told me that their diesel engine needs repair. I should advise him to hire a diesel engine repair service that is licensed and insured.
